"I don't know what to do on our shoot. How do I pose? I've been nervous about this ALL week". These are some of the most common things I hear as we're getting ready to do a couple's engagement shoot. My response is somewhere along the lines of, "good, that means you're normal". Seriously. Look, most of us ARE NOT models and we know it. And even though we live in the day and age of selfies, most people get nervous about how they will do.
And that's why it's so important to feel comfortable with your photographer. One of my favorite things is seeing a couple that is really nervous at the begining of the shoot, calm down and really start to get into it after they realize that thy're doing great! Not that we have to always do engagement sessions but WOW does it set the tone for wedding day. It's one less thing that brides have on their minds for their Big Day. It really makes such a difference!
Like most brides-to-be, Leslie felt the same way about her shoot and wasnt sure WHAT to do or how their images would turn out. After a few minutes in front of the camera though and we were having fun and all of that faded away! And now, this October, she has nothing to worry about (at least with photography ;) Congrats on your engagement and for doing an awesome job on your session Leslie and Adam!
